What is JobBike?


A JobBike is a bicycle or e-bike that an Acrolinx provides to you. The bike may be used for business and also for private trips.


For our JobBike Benefit we partner with Eurorad. This partnership is based on a leasing contract that Acrolinx signs for your chosen bike and which is valid for a period of three years. You will pay the monthly leasing rate, but Acrolinx will subsidize up to €63 per month. 

In order to be able to offer you the JobBike, we have to comply with some requirements set by the tax office. Therefore the bike will be taxed with your payroll and the 0.25% rule. 


What does 0.25% rule mean? 

You have to pay tax on 0.25 percent of the list price as a non-cash benefit. This is done via payroll, so there is no active to-do on your end.

The advantage compared to JobWay is that you can also claim the full commuter allowance of 30 cents per distance kilometer and working day for tax purposes (in your income tax form).

So, how does JobBike work?

Choose a bike dealer

The first step is to go to the Eurorad website and choose your bike dealer. Eurorad cooperates with over more than 4,000 bike stores in Germany. 

Tip: The Eurorad website also has a calculator that will show you how much tax you have to pay according to the 0.25% rule.

Register with Eurorad

Now, before you head to the bike shop, register with Eurorad and your Acrolinx e-mail address.

You will receive a token after you have registered. You will need this token at the bike shop for the order process.

Choose your JobBike

At the bike dealer you choose your JobBike. A lock for the bike is obligatory. The maximum amount for this bike, no difference if it is a regular bike or an e-bike, is 4.000€.

The bike dealer will then prepare the contractual documents and send them to the People Team via the online portal for approval.

Sign the JobBike amendment

Before you can take the bike home with you, the People Team will send you an amendment that is necessary for the assignment of the JobBike. However, this is a formality according to labor law. 


As soon as the JobBike amendment is signed, the contract will be digitally approved by the People Team and you can go pick up your bike.

Insurance of the JobBike


With the JobBike comes always an insurance policy that is valid during the whole contract period. This covers not only thievery, but also the case if you leave Acrolinx before the end of the JobBike's term or if you do not receive a paycheck for a certain period of time (e.g. during parental leave or a long-term illness).


Furthermore, this insurance includes an annual check-up. This is obligatory and must be carried out. By law, your JobBike must be roadworthy at all times and checked once a year.
